Positive!

Twins?!? We found out I was pregnant on Monday,May 26th. We were suspicious and hoping that I was pregnant so we bought a home pregnancy test the night before. That night I didn't sleep so well as I was awaiting taking the test in the morning (they say urine in the morning is the most concentrated with the HCG hormone). Anyways, it came out positive really quickly......not like the times it came back negative. I jumped on Jose as he was still in bed (it was 5 something in the morning) and we celebrated the good news. Unable to go back to sleep, we made our plan for who and how to tell people. We called my mom first (thank goodness Maryland is 3 hours ahead) and then Jose's dad. Later that day we called my dad and tried to reach my brother, who didn't answer. Now the word is out; so I thought it was a good time for a post.
Here's the lovely daisies that my dad and Casey sent after hearing the news.

Today was my very first appointment with the full exam and blood work. I'm going to a nurse midwifery clinic at Miramar; it seems like a really good option. It's close to home and very close to Jose's work (walking distance). Daddy came along for the first visit...and I'm so glad he could share in the moment of hearing our baby boo's heartbeat for the first time and seeing the images of our tiny one. Let me explain the introduction to this announcement of "twins?": well, while the midwife was doing the ultrasound on top of my belly to make sure there was really something there before proceeding to do the whole exam., she asked if there were twins in the family and then said it looked "very suspicious" and wouldn't be able to tell until she did it vaginally. Jose and I were getting anxiously excited at this prospect, especially since he always jokes about us having more than one at a time. She came back to do the full exam and well it's ONE healthy baby with a strong heartbeat! We're so blessed! Praise God for this new life He is creating with all the chromosomes He wants this child to have! We will try to keep you up to date with this new life being created.

Right now I'm between 9 and 10 weeks and due between January 20 -27. There's two dates...one based on my LMP and the other on the ultrasound. For those of you wondering I'm am doing really well. I'm one of those extremely blessed woman who is not dealing with morning sickness (at least not these first 9 weeks). I've been able to work and rest. Fatigue, the need to eat frequently, sore breasts, and frequent urination are the symptoms I've been experiencing. Praise God for His kindness to me at this time!!
