Move, NA and visit

Ever since the end of May it seems we've been pretty busy. We still have a few more boxes to unpack in our condo, which hopefully will be done today. I thank God for His provision for this condo near to our friends. We found out that two other couples from the church live close by. One couple is Jason and Allegra Farr who moved from Maryland this past week. I had heard rumors in the past they were coming out this way and now they're here. It's the slow migration from Covenant Life Church. Anyone else want to join? Becca and Andree?

NEW ATTITUDE FUN

New Attitude definitely blessed and refreshed both of us. The messages were focused on discernment (you can download them for free off of the NA website). I need to hear them again, how quickly I forget the important truths! C.J. Mahaney gave the last sermon on "Take it Back" meaning how we can apply what we've learned. He recommended taking one bit of Scripture to apply to one area of our lives at a time because we are simple people. I chose to renew truth to discern by studying and memorizing Scripture more consistently. I have a long ways to go still in applying that. Most of the messages didn't end with a long list of how to apply, but instead challenged the way we think about things. Jose was privileged to lead a small group at the conference and we enjoyed the fellowship from believers around the country. We also were able to hang out with our MD friends, who I miss :)

My Dad, Casey and brother David came out here to San Diego at the beginning of June. Dad and Casey survived the Rock n' Roll Marathon - I'm still working my way up to one of those. David stayed with us for a week. Jose had a class learning about FEMA in LA during the last few days of my brother's visit, so David and I hung out here. We went to the zoo, Old Town, and the beach. It was great to have him here. Maybe someday he'll move here too.

This past week we've been working. Praise God for the continual grace he gives me at work. I am feeling more competent and confident in what I'm doing. I really like how my hospital has a mentor and charge nurse on the floor all the time, so I can always have a resource. I've been "on my own" now for two weeks. I'm not really alone, but I don't have a preceptor following my every step and double checking every thing I do. I am enjoying the job more, maybe I'll stay with cardiac care for a while.
This weekend we had some fun going to the San Diego county fair in Del Mar. We enjoy walking around, seeing the vendors and exhibits, plus eating the deadly food. Jeff,a guy staying here for the summer to study at UCSD, spent Saturday night with us and watched Oceans 12 with us. Sunday after church we went out to eat with Jess, Dave and Jeff. We were able to spend the evening with Jose's dad to celebrate Father's Day. That's a brief synapse of what we've been up to. Hopefully soon I'll post pictures of where we live now.
