2 Years!
It's already been two sweet years of marriage! I thank God for giving Jose to me as a husband! After salvation, Jose is the best gift I've been given. We continue to grow in our love for each other and are excited for all that God still has in store!
We celebrated our second anniversary 2 weekends ago by going to Carlsbad and staying a night in the condo we have there. We enjoyed a long jog/walk along the beach then a cool Starbucks drink to sip while relaxing in the sand. Going in the water was fun too...not too cold, and it felt pretty good since it was a hot weekend. After getting cleaned up we shopped at the Carlsbad Outlets. We decided to buy each other stuff there. Since the second anniversary gift is "cotton" we got matching cotton shirts and beach towels. Yes, we are dorks! To end the night we went and saw Prince Caspian.
On our actual anniversary (May 20th)we ate out at P.F. Changs, one of my favorites.
We were going to go to La Jolla and see the sunset, but it got cloudy and cool outside. So we opted to drive thru Starbucks and get some hot chocolate and watch a movie snuggled up at home.
In other news...because I've been terrible at updating the blog recently.....
Jose got official word to his final day in the active Marine Corps. December first is his last day. As many of you know we've been praying for months as to what to do. Jose will be going to Westminster Seminary in Escondido (http://www.wscal.edu/) full time starting this fall semester. He's getting on track to become a Navy Chaplain, Lord-willing. We're still thinking and praying about whether or not he'll stay in the reserves. Praise God for providing a scholarship for all his tuition for this upcoming year! This past semester, Jose took a New Testament and Greek class. He just finished finals today. He should now have somewhat of a break. He was pretty busy with tutoring some high school students in physics and math, taking 2 classes, plus a full time job and hanging out with me. There definitely will be changes ahead of us, but God will continue to provide as He always has!
As for me, work continues to go well. I have gained more confidence and am enjoying taking care of older people. It's fun meeting new people and getting to know some things about them in a short period of time.
We've also started to go to a Bible study on Friday nights for Military families. They have pizza, a time of worship and discussion. It's been good to have more fellowship and get a little taste of military outreach.
Well that's a little update for those of you who still check this.
